Gabrielle Malone of Marie Stopes Reproductive Choices in Dublin, reacted angrily to Maria Mahoney’s letter in the Irish Independent (see LifeZine No. 795). According to Miss Malone, “the Ms Mahoneys of this world will use any means to deny women their human right to a choice in the matter.
As the programme director of Marie Stopes Reproductive Choices, I speak to women every day coming to our clinic looking for help in making a critical decision. Faced with a crisis pregnancy, their question is: ‘What are the options?’ We take our time to explain that they have a genuine choice whether to have the baby or terminate the pregnancy. This is the key. Women who have a crisis or unwanted pregnancy have this choice.”
