Contrary to media hype, the recent showing of 59-year-old Craig Ewart's assisted suicide on Sky TV is “not ground-breaking”, wrote George Pitcher in the UK’s Telegraph — “it's in the same category as ‘live web suicides’”.
He noted that “‘Right to Die’, part of Sky’s ‘Real Lives’ series, is already being hailed as a watershed in popular broadcasting, the moment which we look back on when death finally lost its sting, when we were finally released from its taboo.
