Advertising Campaign in Pubs

This is a simple nationwide advertising campaign, targeted at individuals between the ages of 18-40. It follows the theme of our Cinema Campaign: “Life is Precious”.

The core of this education campaign is a beer-mat with a teaser on one side and a list of questions and answers on the reverse.

Questions: If unborn babies had soothers, at what stage would they use them?

When does a baby's heart start to beat?

When does a baby develop fingerprints?

This is then followed by contact details and the call to respect life with “Life is Precious”.

The object is to awaken in the individual the realisation of an unborn baby’s humanity. Depending on the individual, the campaign may elicit a number of diverse responses. Pregnant women may, if necessary, moderate their alcohol consumption. Others may alter their perception of human life from its earliest stage. Others still, may use the information to help prevent a particular unborn baby from being aborted.

This is the first time we have used this form of advertising, and we intend to engage in post-advertising research to refine our educational message. It is also our intention that this campaign will be an annual campaign rather than a one-off.
