Foetal Model Set in Schools Project
Another vital project we are currently working on involves the distribution of sets of Foetal Models to every school in Ireland.
The eight models are anatomically exact replicas of unborn babies at the various stages of development in their mother's womb—at eight weeks gestation, 16, weeks, three months etc.
Students will therefore be able to see for themselves the various stages of develoment of the unborn child. They will be able to handle them and marvel at the size, the growth patterns, the changes in the unborn baby as he or she develops. Each set comes in a display box. The display is ready for use and can be set up instantly.
This project is aimed at the young people of Ireland and will hopefully instil in some of them a respect for that most important of all human rights — the inalienable right to life of the unborn.
We have already distributed sets to nearly 1,000 schools in Ireland.
The response from schools has been 100% positive.
Foetal Model Set Project Completed
Four years ago, when we came across a set of Foetal Models that was originally designed for medical schools, we immediately realised the educational potential of this teaching aid for young school students. So was born the project to give every secondary school in Ireland a set of these foetal models. Four years later we can report that the project is now complete.
These models did not come cheap and were hard to source. Eventually each set cost approximately €250. We raised the money from our supporters, and in four separate postings sent a set to every secondary school in the Republic of Ireland.
Each box contains five models that are anatomically exact replicas of an unborn baby at various stages of development in the womb—at six weeks of pregnancy, eight weeks, 12 weeks, 16 weeks, and 20 weeks. Students can see for themselves the various stages of development of the unborn child; they can handle the models and marvel at the size, the growth patterns, and the changes in the unborn baby as he or she grows.
The foetal models are well made and should last for years of normal use. Once again, we must thank you, for without your support, we would not be able to reach the young people of Ireland with this tremendous Culture of Life project.
