Kevin Myers on the Consequences of ‘Abortion on Demand'

Recently, “Irish Independent” and former “Irish Times” columnist Kevin Myers wrote an opinion piece on the consequences of abortion on demand. He said the promoters of the feminist agenda got their abortion “wish” but in the process have “killed off compassion”. He added: “there are ideological feminists who remain in power, still bitterly determining the agenda for a society which has long grown beyond the simplicities of the old gender debate”. He said, “In abortion-loving, contraceptive-addicted Britain, people of indigenous stock are ceasing to reproduce in numbers sufficient for replacement. Asians, Muslims in particular, have twice the birth rate.” And on the issue of abortion of female-only babies in India, the most-telling quote came from an activist against the "murder" of female infants in the womb, who spoke of the reluctance to speak out on the issue, "for fear of being labelled anti-abortionist." Cardinal O'Brien Resigns from Amnesty International

The leader of the Catholic Church in Scotland has announced that he is resigning from Amnesty International because of its support for abortion. Cardinal Keith O'Brien, Archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh, wrote to the director of Amnesty International in Scotland stating his decision, which was made after Amnesty's international council decided to support the decriminalisation of abortion and the right of women to have access to it. In his statement, the cardinal said: "I hope I act in a manner which is 'pro-life' following what I believe is the teaching of Jesus Christ and the teaching of my Church. That basic and most fundamental of all human rights, the right to life is recognised by the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the document upon which Amnesty International was founded. Sadly now Amnesty International seems to be placing itself at the forefront of a campaign for a universal 'right' to abortion in contravention to that basic right to human life. For me it is a matter of conscience that I have decided to resign from Amnesty International." SCMO. CLICK TO READ MORE.....

Portugal Carries out 526 Abortions on Unborn Babies Since July

A new report from the National Health Service of Portugal finds that 526 abortions have been carried out since the legalisation of abortion in July. The new law allowing abortions up to 10 weeks into the pregnancy went into effect on July 15 despite the fact that only a small percentage of Portuguese citizens actually voted for it. According to the figures, Lisbon and Oporto, the nation's two largest cities, reported the highest number of abortions. Together, abortions done there accounted for 75 percent of the total number done nationwide. At the end of July, an abortion practitioner from Spain opened the first private abortion business in Portugal. LifeNews.com. CLICK TO READ MORE.....

Vatican Newspaper Calls Abortion of Twins ‘Assassination’

Commenting on the recent report of the abortion of twins in Italy, one of whom was suspected to have Down's Syndrome, the Vatican newspaper “L'Osservatore Romano” observed: "Two girls have died, assassinated as a consequence of selective abortion." The case sparked a public outcry in Italy after it was reported that doctors were seeking to abort the unborn child with Down's Syndrome but mistakenly aborted the other twin. After hearing of the error the mother had her remaining unborn child killed as well. “It is a matter”, said the Vatican newspaper, that "eugenics is imposing its law" and of "the culture of perfection that imposes the exclusion of all that does not appear beautiful, glowing, positive, captivating.""A radical decision has brought about another abortion, that of the little sister that still had life", reported “L'Osservatore Romano”. Shots Assist in Aborting Babies—Death Penalty Lethal Injections Offer Legal Shield

In response to the recent US Supreme Court decision upholding the “Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act”, many abortion providers in Boston and around the USA have adopted a defensive tactic. To avoid any chance of partially delivering a live baby, they are injecting them with lethal drugs before carrying on with the abortion. The lethal injections are generally done in abortions of after 18 or 20 weeks gestation. Medical staff inject delete the baby with either the heart drug digoxin or potassium chloride, a potentially poisonous salt also used in state executions. Boston.com. CLICK TO READ MORE.....
