Lobbying Continues to Allow Creation of Embryos ‘For Sole Purpose of Experimentation’
Fr Seamus Murphy SJ, Professor of Moral Theology at the Milltown Institute, Dublin, recently noted that “the moment medical personnel start killing, a great moral barrier has been breached”. At present, he pointed out, various groups are lobbying governments to allow the creation of human embryos solely for purposes of experimentation, trying to use their stem cells to find new cures for various diseases. “The Irish government has gone some way in the direction of allowing it”, he noted. Modern science is quite clear on when human life begins. “Sadly”, he pointed out, “there is resistance to recognizing such human beings as persons with dignity and rights, and instead there is a desire to see them only as human tissue which may be experimented on and dumped when no longer needed. However, such an attitude was only to be expected once abortion had become widespread and accepted.” Details: CLICK TO READ MORE.....
Scandal as Ombudsman Poses as Voice of Childhood in Big Ballot Poll of Children—‘An Attempt to Undermine the Bond Between Families and Children’
“In this, the era of the zero-statement, access to the public mind is guaranteed not by content or value but by ideological compliance. Should you seek to bring to public notice a matter denied approval by the dominating consensus, your cause will asphyxiate for want of the oxygen of publicity”, wrote John Waters recently in his “Irish Times” newspaper column. “But if you and your agendas happen to be at harmony with some sneaky, unspoken plan to manipulate society into a new shape, there is no requirement for substance, sense or sanity.” He was referring to the results of the so-called "national Big Ballot", organised by the Ombudsman for Children, which were revealed in an explosion of publicity. However, he added, “Underneath the guff about ‘family’, the real purpose of the Big Ballot is to marshal the moral power of childhood in undermining the bond between families and children, as currently protected by the Constitution of Ireland, and to assert an alternative focus for children and their needs—in the bosom of the State.” Details: CLICK TO READ MORE.....
England Experiences Sex-Selection Abortion Problems Among Indian Women
A researcher at Oxford University has discovered that the problem of sex-selection abortion isn't confined to Asian nations such as India. Women from India who have moved to the United Kingdom are engaging in the grisly practice there and nearly 1,500 girl babies are "missing" as a result. Dr Sylvie Dubuc, an Oxford statistician, indicates that sex-selection abortions have resulted in the deaths of 1,500 girl babies who would have been born to Indian women living in England since 1990. Dubuc found that the number of boys born in the Indian community there has become unnaturally skewed over time compared with the birth of girl babies. The BBC examined Dubuc's data and found his analysis on target. LifeNews.com. CLICK TO READ MORE.....
Report on the Evolution of the Family in Europe
According to a recent report of the EU family watchdog, the Institute For Family Policies, “families and family associations themselves are increasingly insisting that both social structures and governments should assist the family group and its individual members by putting in place political, economic, labour, social and tax measures to promote and protect the rights of the family.” The report noted that “the social, economic and demographic crises of recent decades have emphasised the role of the family unit as a highly effective cushion against problems such as unemployment, illness, housing, drug addiction and social exclusion. Nowadays the family is seen as a principal support element within society, representing far more than merely a legal, social and economic entity. Above all, the family represents a community built on love and support.” Details: CLICK TO READ MORE.....
Spanish Police Find Late-Term Abortion Centres Flushed Babies Down Drain
Spanish authorities investigating four late-term abortion businesses in Barcelona say they have discovered machines attached to the drains of the buildings which were used to flush down the bodies of babies killed by abortion. The machines were apparently used to crush the bodies and flush them into the city's sewer system. Police believe the abortion centres did illegal abortions as late as eight months into pregnancy and they have arrested the director Carlos Morin, his wife and four staff members. According to a London “Times” news report, the machines the police found were so loud that they were only operated during very early morning hours so those coming to the centres during the day would not hear them. Officials are testing the machines to see if they can isolate any DNA samples form the bodies of babies for their probe. They hope to match the DNA to patients found in client records at the centres. ‘The Golden Compass’
Parents who might be considering taking their children to the cinema to see the new movie “The Golden Compass” might be interested to know that the film is based on the first of a trilogy of books which attack the Catholic Church and seek to convert their readers to atheism. The targeting of children is a particular worry. One of the particular dangers of the new film is due to the apparent similarities to “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” Narnia film which will attract many children. Philip Pullman, the proselytising atheist who wrote the book on which the film is based, described C.S. Lewis’s “Chronicles of Narnia” as "one of the most ugly, poisonous things I have ever read" and seems to have set out deliberately to produce a travesty of the Lewis books.
