Update on Campaign
8:36 04/01/2011
In October Family & Life launched a MAJOR pro-life advertising campaign throughout the province of Munster, featuring three high-profile media vehicles: FIRST, cinemas throughout Munster broadcasted our powerful pro-life cinema ad, Life is Precious, at the start of blockbuster movies; thousands of cinemagoers saw our professionally produced ad that focuses on choosing life for unborn babies. SECOND, at the same time, throughout the province, public conveniences in pubs, clubs and many other places where young people gather displayed two pro-life posters—one targeting men and the other women—with life-affirming messages and graphically appealing images. And THIRD, we placed pro-life beer mats in pubs throughout Munster; these beer mats feature intriguing questions about the development of the preborn child—questions proven to raise curiosity and interest among people who read them. All the ads in this new campaign give our Web-site address for further information and resources. Already, we have received a significant number of enquiries from this outreach!
Marie Stopes begins Beer Mat Advertising

In its latest attempt to gain a foothold and extend its anti-life influence in Ireland, abortion giant Marie Stopes International has started advertising on pub beer mats. Marie Stopes flooded pubs in Dublin with the ads for vasectomies, but drinkers first thought they were for something else entirely. One man said: “When I saw the front of the beer mat I assumed it was advertising condoms, but then I turned it over and had a bit of a shock.” Marie Stopes Programme Director, Gabrielle Malone, says they are considering rolling out the shocking campaign across the whole of Ireland. She said: “The campaign tied in with the World Cup because we knew a lot of guys would be in pubs watching the matches with their mates and we thought it would be a novel way to attract their attention. It was targeted in Dublin for the first campaign and we will now be looking at doing it another time throughout the whole of Ireland.” F&L Comment: Family & Life’s successful “Life is Precious” annual beer mat campaign promoting the Culture of Life has doubtlessly impacted on MSI. They have seen the success of our campaign which has badly affected their abortion business. Recent figures show the drop in the number of women and girls going to England for abortion for the seventh year in succession! While imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, this new campaign of MSI shows how determined they are to become entrenched in Ireland. The mainstay of Marie Stopes’ business is abortion and Family & Life will not be found wanting in the face of its well-funded assault on Ireland. We will step up to the mark and ensure that the truth on the sanctity of unborn human life is proclaimed more strongly than ever and that fewer people will be taken in by MSI propaganda.
