As you know, Family & Life’s St. Patrick’s Fund – thanks to your support – plays an essential role by co-sponsoring life saving projects at Sister Yanee’s Babies' & Children’s Shelter in Thailand. With our help, Sister and her volunteers lovingly care for babies who would otherwise have been aborted or abandoned. We also rescue small children sold into sexual slavery, sometimes by their parents, and help other children suffering extreme forms of poverty.
When Thai police rescue children they often bring the little ones to the shelter in Bangkok. The St Patrick's Fund provides essential aid to keep the shelter open and care for the babies and children.
We put together a list of the most pressing issues facing the shelter and the all children for the next year. . . ✔ Essential maintenance on the building that houses the children, including a new roof and plumbing repairs made necessary by the major floods in Bangkok which you may have seen on the news; ✔ A play area for the very young children brought to the Shelter, plus a small sum for toys; ✔ We must hire one new teacher – a teacher whose specialty is teaching reading and writing; ✔ I need to pay for 80 additional mattresses and 80 pillows for children recently rescued from sex traffickers; ✔ Additional equipment to train older children with skills that will allow them eventually to live independently.
My hope and prayer is that you’ll decide right now to make a sacrificial gift of €30 . . . €35 . . . €40 . . . €50 . . . €100 . . . €150 . . . €200 . . . €250 . . . €500 . . . or €1,000.Maybe your material blessings allow an even larger gift? Perhaps €1,500, €2,500? Or even as much as €5,000? Is that possible? One more thing: We think things are tough at home with the continuing recession. And things are tough here. But our struggles are NOTHING compared to the suffering of the little ones caught in Thailand’s extreme forms of poverty.
