Remember Terri Schiavo who was murdered by the legal and medical authorities, at the behest of her husband, in Florida in 2005. They acceded to his demand to remove the feeding tube, and so starve her to death, claiming that Terri was in a “persistent vegetative state” and keeping her alive was futile and contrary to her previously expressed wish. Terri’s parents opposed removing the feeding tube on the grounds that she was able to communicate with them. Terri died after 14 days without food and liquid.
