Peru Project

25.01.2022

Our annual support for Fr Brian and the Sisters in Peru through our St Patrick’s Fund, has enabled them to renovate a large ramshackle house into a well-equipped pregnancy centre, now caring for expecting women. This life-saving project, partly in response to the Peruvian government’s liberalisation of the country’s abortion laws, enables women to reject abortion and have a secure place to give birth.

Thanks to Family & Life supporters, we provided the remote pro-life clinic with an ambulance/mini-van to transport pregnant women from remote parts of the mission territory to the main hospital in the city, where they can receive specialist treatment. Supporters have also provided an “uninterruptible power source”, a machine that provides emergency power when the regular power source fails in the local hospital, not to mention an ultrasound scanner along with medicine.

You probably remember awhile back when we appealed for the help of Family and Life supporters to help buy a mini-van to transport pregnant women from remote parts of his mission territory to the main hospital in the city where they can safely give birth to their little ones, whereas before they had to walk for hours just to catch a bus.

We received these photos recently from Fr. Brian of the Ambulance Family & Life supporters, who helped purchase to assist and transport pregnant women in remote parts of Peru. God bless the volunteers who manage this programme.
