Churches Defeat Abortion Dictat

19.06.2023

In mid-May, two federal courts ruled unconstitutional the California state government mandate that the insurance plans of churches and other religious employers must pay for aborting babies. Three churches sued, and the courts have now held that the mandate violated their First Amendment constitutional rights to conduct their affairs according to their consciences.

The state must now pay the churches $1.4 million in attorneys’ fees. Evidence surfaced during the cases that the state drew up its unconstitutional mandate “in response to specific demands from Planned Parenthood”.
