The three‑day wait was introduced as a measure of compassion, ensuring time, space, and clarity at a moment of immense vulnerability. Its impact is not theoretical. HSE data shows that more than 10,000 women between 2019 and 2024 did not proceed with an abortion after the waiting period, including 2,200 in 2024 alone. 

This battle is far from over and we must continue our efforts to show our support for the life saving 3 day waiting period by reaching out to our politicians.
