Rally Calls for Protection of Human Life in NI

12.07.2018

The annual All-Ireland Rally for Life took place on Saturday at the Northern Ireland Assembly in Stormont. The Rally, which alternates between Dublin and Belfast, was attended by thousands of people from all over Ireland, urging Northern Ireland’s politicians to maintain the existing strict laws regulating abortion.

The crowd was addressed by a range of speakers including DUP MLA Jim Wells and women who spoke about their own experiences of abortion.

“We need to continue to be bold and courageous,” said Bernie Smyth, head of Precious Life, as she spoke of the challenge that now faces Northern Ireland.

Referencing the pro-abortion antics of Sinn Féin’s leaders after the referendum result in May, people held up placards saying, “The North is NextProtects”
