Texas Laws Saving Thousands

31.10.2023

Pro-life state laws in Texas have saved tens of thousands of babies in the past two years, say several reports. One from 2021 protects babies whose heartbeats can be detected (usually when the little ones are six weeks old). A second law, which prohibits all elective abortions, began to be enforced when Dobbs struck down Roe in June 2022.

Together, these laws have been so effective that in the first four months of 2023, just 17 babies were legally aborted, for stated emergencies, in the huge state. Professor Michael New of the Catholic University of America remarks that a study of his has shown that Texas’s state laws are saving around a thousand babies a month.
