U.S. House Passes Bill to Defund Planned Parenthood and Child Gender Procedures

30.05.2025

In a significant victory for pro-life and pro-family advocates, the U.S. House of Representatives has passed a major Republican-led bill that includes provisions to strip taxpayer funding from Planned Parenthood and end public funding for gender transition procedures in children.

The narrow 215–214 vote, as first reported by LifeSiteNews, reflects growing momentum among conservatives to challenge the use of federal funds for abortion providers and controversial treatments on minors. The bill would block Medicaid reimbursements to organisations that carry out elective abortions—most notably, Planned Parenthood—and bar funds from covering so-called “gender-affirming care” for children.

Though critics claim the move would impact other health services, Planned Parenthood’s own reports show its focus has shifted overwhelmingly toward abortion services according to Lifesitenews.

Pro-life groups across America welcomed the move, urging senators to uphold the defunding provisions. While the bill now faces further scrutiny in the Senate, the House vote marks a strong political stand against using public money for procedures that many Americans view as morally objectionable and harmful to vulnerable lives.

It’s a reminder that when pro-life voices stay active, meaningful change is possible—even in the face of fierce opposition.
