Webinar: Bishop Mark on the Persecution of Christians in Northern Nigeria

10.04.2026

There are moments when the suffering of others can no longer be ignored, when we are called not just to hear, but to listen, to witness, and to respond.

In Northern Nigeria today, Christian communities are enduring relentless violence at the hands of Islamist militants, including Boko Haram and Fulani extremists. Under the watch of a Muslim-led government that too often turns a blind eye, villages have been destroyed, churches burned, and families driven from their homes.

At the centre of this crisis is Bishop Mark Nzukwein, a faithful shepherd who continues to stand with his people in the midst of fear, loss, and displacement. In recent months alone, his diocese has seen killings, mass displacement, and entire communities reduced to ashes. He spends much time consoling the grieving, caring for the wounded, and helping families who have lost everything.

Now, for the first time, you have the opportunity to hear directly from him.

On Wednesday, April 15th at 7pm, Bishop Mark will join Paddy Manning for a live online conversation, sharing first-hand testimony of what is happening on the ground, real stories, real people, and a reality that is too often ignored.

This is more than a webinar. It is an opportunity to stand in solidarity with persecuted Christians, to hear the truth from a bishop who lives it daily, and to better understand how we can respond.
