Campaign Against Discrimination of the Disabled

25.01.2022

Our laws forbid discrimination against other humans because of their race, religion, sex, age and disability. Yet, the 2018 Abortion Act allows discrimination against all unborn babies, without restrictions during the first 12 weeks of their existence. And, should they have some disability like Down Syndrome or club foot, they can be killed up to birth.

Last year we published and circulated a very successful leaflet (you can order more copies from the office) as part of our ongoing campaign against discrimination of the disabled. We also launched a web resource, which sets out all the arguments and the plan ahead. It is available here: https://prolife.ie/disabilities/

Please visit this resource and share with friends and family. Our intention is to increase pressure on the Irish government this year to change the law on abortion for the disabled, similar to the work we did in the Northern Ireland Assembly in 2021.
