Information Sessions for Parents and Teachers on Ireland’s Evolving School Policies
Family & Life has been organising a series of information sessions designed to help parents and teachers understand recent woke agenda surrounding school policies, including concerns raised by some speakers about how gender and identity topics are addressed in the updated SPHE curriculum and its incorporation into numerous other subjects.
These sessions outline the perspectives of individuals such as Dr. Niamh Regan and members of the Parents Rights Alliance, who argue that certain curriculum changes introduce concepts they view as ideological and at odds with some families’ beliefs. The events aim to brief attendees on how these policies are being implemented in classrooms, explain why some groups are calling for greater parental oversight or opt‑out options, and discuss ways communities can engage constructively with schools and policymakers.
The overall focus is on helping parents and teachers stay informed, understand the policy landscape, and lobby their politicians and the Department of Education to ensure that trans policy ceases to be forced on children and teachers in schools.
